Course Description

The directional drilling class teaches state-of-the-art technology in underground installation of utilities. The operator learns the proper and safe methods of operating the directional drilling machine by first operating a Ditch-Witch computer simulator in the classroom, followed by hands-on training in the field operating a Vermeer directional-drilling machine. Students will be given a hands-on opportunity to learn the techniques to successfully make a bore, which includes machine set-up, boring and reaming. Class size is kept small to maximize operator practical training.
